Our skilled and compassionate treatment professionals view the eating disorder as an expression of deeply-held feelings such as anger, deprivation, fear, lack of trust and insecure attachment. Our professionals guide you to look to the disordered eating pattern as a source of wisdom that can help you discover the meaning behind your struggle and the role that your eating disorder serves in your life. Armed with this awareness, you can begin the process of unraveling and healing the past and developing skills that enable you to create a healthy and happy future. Treatment is multi-disciplinary. It incorporates psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral groups, nutritional counseling, art therapy and yoga
Q. How much time per week should I expect to spend in the program?
A. Our adult program consists of individual therapy, group therapy and workshop sessions that are offered in the evenings on Monday through Thursday between the hours of 5pm-8:30pm. During the admissions process your therapist will help you to devise a treatment program that fits your schedule. You should expect to spend three or four evenings each week at the program for an average of 2 hours each evening. Your attendance is essential to a successful recovery.
Our adolescent program schedule is customized based on the needs of your family and teenager. We offer services after-school, in the early evenings and on weekends. A weekly schedule for a teenager generally consists of one to four hours of therapy per week and can include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy and nutritional counseling. During the admissions process your therapist will work with you to devise a weekly schedule that works for your family and your teenager.
Q.How
long should I expect to be in the program?
A. Each
individual that comes to our program brings with them a distinct
history and a unique set of challenges. Just as each client
is unique, the length of treatment that each client will need
varies. During your admissions assessment, you will be asked
to make a three-month commitment to the program. This period
of time will give you and your treatment team the opportunity
to get to know each other and to begin to address the issues
that are at the core your eating disorder. At the end of three
months, your case manager or therapist will meet privately
with you to discuss your progress and devise a plan for future
treatment. Together you will determine a reasonable timeline
and the date of your next evaluation. When individuals are
ready to leave the program, they can choose to participate
in the “After-Care” program which provides a modified
treatment plan that assists in the client’s transition
out of the program.
Q.
What
is “After-Care”?
A. “After-Care” is a program
that is offered to clients who are in the final stages of
treatment. It allows them to participate in a modified version
of their treatment plan. The purpose of “After-Care”
is to provide professional support while the client transitions
out of treatment.

will my treatment plan consist of?
A. Our adult program consists of individual and group therapy and might also include nutritional counseling, art therapy, family therapy, meditation & yoga, fitness, and cognitive workshops that address issues of body image, self-esteem, eating and food, family dynamics, etc. During the admissions process, your therapist will help you develop an individualized treatment plan that fits your schedule and interests.
