Trauma can activate survival-oriented behaviors that lead to the development of eating disorders. This seminar will explain the impact of trauma on the physiological, neurological, relational, affective and information processing systems. We will utilize a trauma perspective in predicting eating disorder pathology, in identifying the difference between real danger and perceived threat, and in acquiring tools to help clients achieve a sense of safety.
